Past Creative City Project and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra Collaboration.
The Creative City Project, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Society for Arts Innovation presented “Innovative Moments in Classical Music” on April 4, 2019. The invite-only concert took place in an empty storefront in Downtown Orlando. The Creative City Project team transformed the space with lighting and ambiance. And the orchestra played works that highlight significant moments from classical music history.

Questions and Answers :
What’s IMMERSE?
IMMERSE is the annual performing and interactive arts festival from the Creative City Project. It takes place October 18-19, 2019 in the streets and public spaces of Downtown Orlando. IMMERSE 2019 will platform 1,000 performers for an audience of 70,000 guests. Scroll down for photos and video from past events.
I’m in a band, can I submit my band’s songs?
We’re looking for solo artists AND bands. We’re looking for artists of any genre — pop, rock, hip hop, rap, electronic… you name it. We’re interested. In fact, our final selection will focus on choosing bands from multiple genres.
Do I have to be in a band? Or can solo artists apply?
Solo artists are absolutely welcome to apply. We’re looking for solo artists or bands of any size!
Can artists from any location submit?
YES! The rehearsal and performances will be in Orlando, FL on October 18. If you live close by, great. If not, that’s okay. But you will have to figure out how to get here. At this point, we don’t have travel stipends. BUT, if we hear something we just have to have… maybe there’s a chance.
When and where are the performances and rehearsals?
The performances are in Downtown Orlando on October 18, 2019. The rehearsal date hasn’t been set yet. But it’s tentatively going to be at the beginning of October.
What’s included in the collaboration?
For the ORCHESTRATE initiative, the Creative City Project and Orlando Philharmonic will :
create arrangements
facilitate rehearsals
facilitate performances and technical infrastructure
and (hopefully) get a recording of the performance.
We’re also creating video profiles of the artists and bands and documenting the entire process — documentary style.
Participation in “Orchestrate” does not include an additional cash honorarium for collaborating artists.
Are you paying for travel?
We encourage artists from outside Central Florida to submit their music. But, we’re not currently covering travel stipends. BUT, if we hear something we just have to have… maybe there’s a chance.
Do you want artists from my genre?
We’re looking for artists of any genre — pop, rock, hip hop, rap, electronic… you name it. We’re interested. In fact, our final selection will focus on choosing bands from multiple genres.
